The Purpose of United Methodist Women

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The First United Methodist Church of Monticello has three UMW Circles.

- The Wilma Hankins’ Circle meets the second Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in church parlor.  (Average age of circle members 75)

- Circle #4 meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in homes. (Average age of circle members 58)

- Circle #5 meets the third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. for dinner in homes. (Average age 33)
